Client Officer at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transport.

The Kristianstad area is part of the Southern region of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and currently includes the Kristianstad prison, located about 10 km south of Kristianstad. At present, the prison has approximately 145 inmates and 120 employees. We are undergoing a significant capacity increase, and much is happening in the area in terms of renovations and new constructions. In a few years, the new prison Vä is expected to accommodate about 600 inmates and have 500 employees. The largest professional group is prison officers, but there are also healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the leadership of the prison inspector, you as a client officer will be responsible for the overall client work. This means ensuring the quality of the work with clients' execution planning, as well as preparing and making decisions according to prison and administrative laws in accordance with delegation. Your role includes making assessments based on applicable regulations, guidelines, and practices, as well as continuously guiding and training staff in the client process.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of client officer, it is important that you have a structured and organized working method. You plan and carry out your work effectively, even under high workloads or temporary tasks. You are flexible and easily adapt to current circumstances and see opportunities in changes. As a person, you are secure, stable, and distinguish between the personal and professional. It is important for you to always act in accordance with decisions made, policies, and guidelines. You are pedagogical and have a clear way of communicating, and you adapt the way you convey information according to the recipient to ensure that your message is received.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree (e.g., law, social work, social sciences) or other education combined with relevant work experience deemed suitable by the employer.
• Experience in case management within the state, municipality, or county council.
• The ability to express oneself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• A valid driver's license (B).

We would prefer if you have:

• Experience in case management within the prison and probation service.
• Good knowledge of administrative law.
• Relevant language skills.
